i was going to use this post to complain about having to work 16 hours at the front desk over the last three days. but then i started working on research for my women's studies project. and let's just say after researching what life in lagos, nigeria is like for a four year old i quickly realized i had nothing to complain about.
with a population of 7,937,932, it is currently the second most populous city in Africa after Cairo, and is estimated to be the fastest growing city in Africa and the seventh fastest growing in the world. Lagos is the economic and financial capital of Nigeria but more than 70% of the city’s residents live in informal housing, crammed into slums with no electricity or water. 64% of the population lives below the international poverty line of $1.25 per day.
there is one doctor for every 3,000 people.
let us be thankful for the countless blessing we have.
